ECAT Aggregate Calculator

Find your aggregate for UET and other engineering universities that use ECAT. The calculator starts with the widely reported UET weighting of 17% Matric, 50% FSc and 33% ECAT (out of 400), and every weight can be changed to match your prospectus.

Your marks

Weights change from year to year. Check them in your university’s latest prospectus and edit them below if needed.

If your Part II result isn’t out yet, enter your Part I marks and total (for example out of 550).

Weights (%)

Shows the entry test marks you need to reach this aggregate, for example last year’s closing merit.

How to use the ECAT Aggregate Calculator

  1. Enter your Matric and FSc marks with their totals.
  2. Enter your ECAT score out of 400, or a target aggregate to see the score you need.
  3. Check the breakdown and edit the weights if your university uses different ones.

UET aggregate formula with ECAT

UET Lahore and other Punjab engineering universities admit students on an aggregate of Matric, FSc and the ECAT entry test. The weighting most widely reported is:

PartWeight
Matric (SSC)17%
FSc Pre-Engineering (HSSC)50%
ECAT (out of 400)33%

Aggregate = (Matric % × 0.17) + (FSc % × 0.50) + (ECAT % × 0.33)

Worked example

Matric 1000/1100 (90.91%), FSc 950/1100 (86.36%) and ECAT 250/400 (62.5%):

15.455 + 43.182 + 20.625 = 79.261%

Why FSc marks matter so much

With half the weight on FSc, your board result counts more than the test. A 20-mark difference in FSc (out of 1100) changes the aggregate by about 0.9 points, which can be dozens of places on a merit list.

How many ECAT marks do I need?

Leave the ECAT box empty and enter your target aggregate, for example last year's closing merit for your chosen discipline. The calculator shows the ECAT score you need out of 400.

Formulas and test totals change, sometimes every year. The weights here are the most widely published ones at the time of writing; always confirm them in the official prospectus or merit notice, and edit the weights in the calculator if they differ.

Frequently asked questions

What is the UET aggregate formula?

The most widely reported UET formula is 17% Matric, 50% FSc and 33% ECAT, with ECAT out of 400. Universities can change it, so confirm it in the current prospectus and edit the weights if needed.

Can I use my FSc Part I marks?

Yes. If your Part II result isn’t out, enter your Part I marks with their total, for example out of 550, to get an estimate.

Is the ECAT calculator only for UET Lahore?

No. Any university that combines Matric, FSc and ECAT can be calculated: choose My own weights and type the percentages from its prospectus.
