Find your grade from marks

Enter your total marks, or the marks for each part of the course, and the calculator shows your percentage and letter grade on the scale you choose: HEC (university), Matric and Inter boards, or the US system.

Weighted grades: quizzes, assignments, mid and final

Most university courses split the marks into parts with different weights. Your final percentage is the sum of each part's percentage multiplied by its weight.

Board grades for Matric and Inter

The calculator uses the long-standing board scale: A+ from 80%, A from 70%, B from 60%, C from 50%, D from 40% and E from 33%. Boards in Pakistan are moving to a new 10-point scale (A++, A+, A, B++ and so on), introduced in stages from 2024 with some differences between boards, so check your own board's notification for the latest bands.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate my grade from marks?

Work out your percentage (marks ÷ total × 100), then find the band it falls in on your grading scale. The calculator does both and highlights your grade in the table.

How do weighted grades work?

Each part of the course counts for a set share, called its weight. If the final exam is worth 50% and you score 80% in it, it adds 40 points to your overall grade. The weights should add up to 100%.

What grades do Matric and Inter boards give?

This calculator uses the long-standing board bands: A+ 80% and above, A 70–79, B 60–69, C 50–59, D 40–49, E 33–39 and F below 33. Some boards have introduced new grading, so check your board’s result card.
