Why turn PDF pages into images?

Images are easier to share in some places than PDFs. People convert PDF pages to JPG or PNG to post a page on social media, add it to a presentation, send it on WhatsApp, use it in a design, or upload it to a form that only accepts pictures.

PNG or JPG?

  • PNG keeps text and lines perfectly sharp. Choose it for documents, slides, charts and anything with small writing.
  • JPG makes much smaller files. Choose it for pages that are mostly photos, or when the file size matters.

Which resolution should you pick?

Only need some pages?

Choose “Selected pages” and type the page numbers, for example 1-3, 5. To keep the pages as a smaller PDF instead of images, use Split PDF. To copy the words instead of a picture of them, use PDF to Text.

Password-protected PDFs

A PDF with an opening password can't be read in the browser. Open it in the app you normally use, save a copy without the password, and convert that copy.

Frequently asked questions

Can I convert only some pages?

Yes. Choose Selected pages and type page numbers or ranges, for example 1-3, 5, 8.

Which resolution should I pick?

Standard (144 DPI) is good for screens. High (216 DPI) and Print (300 DPI) give sharper text and larger files.

Does it work with password-protected PDFs?

Not yet. If a PDF is protected with a password, the tool tells you it cannot open it.
