One calculator for every merit formula
Most Pakistani universities rank applicants by an aggregate: a weighted mix of Matric, FSc (or A-Level equivalence) and an entry test. Only the weights change. This calculator has presets for the most common ones and lets you type any other formula.
Common formulas
| Admission | Matric | FSc | Test |
|---|---|---|---|
| MBBS / BDS (MDCAT) | 10% | 40% | 50% |
| NUST (NET) | 10% | 15% | 75% |
| UET (ECAT) | 17% | 50% | 33% |
| FAST computing programmes | 10% | 40% | 50% |
| FAST engineering programmes | 17% | 50% | 33% |
Worked example (FAST computing)
Matric 90%, FSc 85% and entry test 60%: (90 × 0.10) + (85 × 0.40) + (60 × 0.50) = 9 + 34 + 30 = 73%.
Using your own formula
Type the three weights from your university's prospectus; they must add up to 100%. If a part doesn't count, set its weight to 0. If your university uses an interview or Hafiz-e-Quran marks, add them as the prospectus describes after calculating the aggregate.
Find the test score you need
Leave the test marks empty and enter a target aggregate to see the score you need for last year's closing merit.
Formulas and test totals change, sometimes every year. The weights here are the most widely published ones at the time of writing; always confirm them in the official prospectus or merit notice, and edit the weights in the calculator if they differ.
